Wedding Invitation Trends for 2012
It seems that everyone is talking wedding invitations today, so we thought we’d jump on the bandwagon. With everyone scrambling to get the most votes on our Facebook Page and win that wedding package valued at over $2,500, it’s no wonder that invitations are a hot topic. I mean, if you’re about to win a free wedding package from Val Vista Lakes, you’ll need to start getting those wedding invitations out.
Let’s take a look at what will be trending in terms of wedding invites in 2012.
• DIY Invitations – Of course, with the economy still a bit sluggish, DIY wedding invitations will be very trendy in 2012, as they were in 2011. If you’re going DIY this year, you can still remain trending with popular materials and styles for 2012.
• Metal – You probably never considered using sheet metal as an invite, but in 2012 wedding couples are going extremely creative, unique and outside of the box with different invitation materials. Metal, wood and fabric will be huge this year. Using unique materials definitely gives your invite a different look that will stick in the memories of your guests.
• Envelopes – As with the invites themselves, the envelopes are getting a make-over in 2012. No longer will you see plain, old white or off-white envelopes holding paper invites. This year everyone is going ‘designer’ with their envelopes. In fact, the envelopes might even take over for the invitations in terms of lasting impression.
• Flowers – Have you ever considered a flower wedding invitation? In 2012, fabric flowers will substitute for the ‘traditional engraved floral print on white stock,’ according to TheKnot.com.
• Origami – This is going to be big in 2012 for wedding invitations. Origami clubs are popping up everywhere, and for those who have the time and dedication to learn some origami creations, you can truly make your invitations unique and memorable.
• Bling – Of course, if you haven’t notice bling is big this year. Rhinestones, pearls, beads, crystals, and pretty much anything that shines and has some dazzle to it can be added to wedding invitations.
• Going Bold – For the past few years vintage weddings and subtle colors have been the trend. However, in 2012 you will notice the vintage trend fade and the old and bold trends returning. Think deep, rich colors in 2012.
While every wedding invitation can be unique and timeless, these are just a few hints as to what will be trending and popular in 2012. For more information on our Facebook Contest, or to schedule an appointment to see our Arizona wedding venue, call today!
