Plan B: Why you need to have a Plan B for outdoor weddings

Outdoor weddings can be stunning, particularly if you live in a place with a ton of natural beauty. For example, an Arizona wedding held outdoors at a moderate time of the year can result in spectacular results for a bride, her groom and guests. However, any outdoor event requires a Plan B to ensure that if anything goes wrong, everyone isn’t running around trying to figure out how to salvage what is supposed to be one of the most beautiful moments of a couple’s life.

For example, particularly in an area with weather as volatile as Arizona, an outdoor Arizona wedding might be subject to sudden roaring thunderstorms or even a dust storm if the conditions are right. Rain is the number one enemy of an outdoor affair and can seem to almost materialize out of nowhere. A plan B ensures that both planners and guests know what to do in the event that this happens, so that the wedding can come together in an interior location, so the show can go on. It might seem like a hassle during the planning process to come up with a plan that may never be used, but for brides that have been in this situation, it can save the entire wedding.

The Plan B should be something dumbed down and much more simple than the original plan, since it needs to come together pretty fast. Moreover, it needs to be in a place nearby the original wedding. So, for example, if the original Arizona wedding is being held at the Grant Canyon, then the Plan B would be at a nearby hotel’s banquet room, so that if it rains, guests can quickly get indoors.

It may not be fun to give up a beautiful and scenic outdoor ceremony (particularly not after so much hard work), but the most important aspects of a wedding – time spent with family and friends and the exchanging of vows in front of your most important people – can be preserved with a Plan B that takes place at an indoor location.
